Created in 2007, the Ballon Bleu de Cartier wristwatch expands the Maison’s array of timepiece forms with an unprecedented design that revisits the classic round case.
The Ballon Bleu de Cartier wristwatch forms a circle that nothing can disrupt—not even the winding crown, which has been harmoniously integrated under a metal arch positioned at three o’clock. This feature, adorned with a blue cabochon evoking Cartier’s jewellery-making spirt, is what makes this timepiece unique. Because of it, the traditional position of the hours and the chemin-de-fer chapter ring are slightly displaced, adding yet another play on circular shapes.

In addition to the winding crown, the Ballon Bleu de Cartier wristwatch showcases the Maison’s most emblematic watchmaking codes: Roman numerals on a guilloché dial and a chemin-de-fer chapter ring indicating the minutes. This clean-lined aesthetic makes the Ballon Bleu suitable for men and women alike.
