Cactus de Cartier

Created in 2016, the Cactus de Cartier collection expands the Maison’s botanical repertoire.

Very early in the Maison’s history, flora clearly emerged as a major inspiration.

Alongside traditional varieties such as the laurel and the rose, Cartier has cultivated species more rarely seen in jewelry, such as the cactus, which has been featured since 2016.

From the naturalist inspiration flows a stylized, even abstract, interpretation. The cactus plant’s organic volume unfolds in architectural, sculptural creations. Shaped into beads, tesserae and studs, yellow gold is lightened with the play of openwork.

The precious metal’s warm aura mingles with flamboyant coral in a sunny palette, while emerald and chrysoprase evoke the green of nature and diamond or lapis-lazuli add a refreshing touch. In addition to the color combinations favored by Jeanne Toussaint, her style is reflected in the generous gathering of precious and fine stones, some studded with diamonds.

The uniqueness and character of the cactus also imbue the way the pieces are worn. Appearing in twos, the plants slide along necklaces or hover between two fingers.

Jewelry as playful as it is original.
