Fleur de lotus ruby

In 2014 Cartier crowned a ring with a 8.38-carat cushion-shaped ruby found in the legendary Mogok Valley of Burma. The design of the ring evokes a lotus flower.

Weighing 8.38 carats, this cushion-shaped ruby has all the features typical of rubies from Burma, in particular those stones from the historic Mogok mines. They are distinctive not only for their purity but also for their high-quality color: a pure, deep, vivid red.

Inspired by this ruby’s Asian roots, Cartier designed a refined ring whose flowing lines suggest the shimmering petals of a lotus flower.
